SMART celebrates Cambridge International Examinations and British Council Awards (March 2010)

“Winners of the British Council in collaboration with Cambridge International Examinations – UK, 2009 Award being the First School in Egypt since 2005 to implement its’ highly successful Cambridge International Primary Programme”.

SIS Team would like to share the good news of being awarded by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the British Council in the Cambridge Outstanding Achiever Awards Ceremony 2009 that will be held on Wednesday 24/3/2010 at the British Embassy.

SIS will be awarded as the first school in Egypt to start the Cambridge International Primary Programme.

Following the Cambridge International Primary Programme for Key stage 1 & 2 (Year 1 - Year 6) for Core Subjects (English, Mathematics & Science), combining this with the National Curriculum for England and Wales for other subjects and Egyptian National guidelines, enables the school to offer a unique education to our pupils who are drawn from many countries, coming together purposefully to gain a unique International education of relevance and creativity.

The Cambridge International Primary Programme gives a framework to develop Mathematics, English and Science skills and knowledge in young children. The Primary Programme provides guidance for curriculum development and classroom teaching and learning, and allows teachers to assess children’s learning as they progress.

Continuous assessment takes place throughout this phase and is completed, in year 6 with the Cambridge Primary Achievement Test.
